Malc Parr The photo shows a large, vertical cloud plume which dominates the skyline. It is set against a sunrise or a sunset, as the sky has an orange glow which contrasts against the dark coloured plume. There is an aeroplane flying to the right hand side of the cloud, which leaves a trail of smoke.
These cloud plumes were seen in Corringham, Lincolnshire

Several tall cloud plumes have been spotted in the skies across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire over the past few days.

The clouds were caused by either warm air or steam, generated from different power station cooling towers in the area.

BBC climate correspondent Paul Hudson said the plumes were larger than usual due to the weather conditions.

He said: «It was clear and cold with no wind, so the plumes rose vertically to a higher level than normal before dispersing, so they will have been seen from a bigger distance.»

Bob Carter The picture shows a stretch of water, with an industrial site in the distance. Coming out of some of the towers are plumes of smoke.

Harritography The photo is of a sunset. The sky is red, orange and yellow. In the distance, there are three vertical cloud plumes that are spaced out from one another. They come from behind some trees in the distance, which you can see the shadow of.
Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
Jackie Matthewman The picture shows three vertical cloud plumes that come from behind a hedge, which runs along the photo. The plumes have white and grey tinges in them.
Tetney, North East Lincolnshire
Debbie Peters The photo has been taken outside of a car window. It shows a visible cloud plume that is coming from behind a large farm-style warehouse. This is situated behind a field that crops grow on. There are various trees in the distance too.
